Growing up I had fairly clear skin until I hit 17 and then it all went downhill. A combination of hormone imbalances, skin type and diet lead to continuous breakouts for several years. After various experiments with skincare my skin has settled with a combination of good hydration, a clean diet and gentle natural skincare.
Finding quality, affordable beauty products can be a challenge. However, the majority of my current favourite products are clean, cruelty free and cheap. For those of you who are looking for nourishing everyday products I thought I would share my tried and true skin care products and scents.
I purchased this cleanser on a whim during my first day in Australia and was pleasantly surprised. It works wonders on my oilier skin while remaining gentle and non-drying. I also love the fresh, clean smell and the pump bottle is a great practical design. Its a good value natural option for sensitive and/or oily skin like mine.
Eye cream is an essential part of my beauty arsenal. For the past 10-ish years I've battled with dark circles and tired eyes and this cream is great at smoothing and soothing my under eye area. It's also great at plumping the eye area before concealer application, for a smoother application.
The wonderful Sophie from Nana Wintour introduced me to this product and its my favourite of all my daily skin products. I apply it every evening as part of my relaxation and self care routine and it's done wonders for my hyperpigmentation and break outs.
This mask is great for cutting through angry breakouts and oil. I use it a couple of times a month and also apply spot application on blemishes. The essential oils leave a nice clean tingling sensation on the skin and it smells zesty and fresh.
I am still on the hunt for a good moisturiser. I currently use Nivea, which is light and soft on my skin, but I am looking for a more natural alternative. If you have any suggestions just comment down below or send me an email.
My two favourite perfumes at the moment are the Persian Rose roll on from Pacifica, which is great to have sitting in my purse for freshening up and the Body Shop's Indian Night Jasmine range. I recently discovered the Night Jasmine body spray and I am in love. It's become my signature scent and is the perfect balance of exotic, floral and sexy. I also love that both these perfumes are natural and cruelty free, so I am wearing scents that are good for my body and the planet.
I love cooking and gardening, but my hands don't always enjoy them as much! My hobbies have wrecked havoc on my skin and nails but for the last couple of years I have become reliant on Ecoya's hand creams. They are soft and replenishing without leaving a sticky/greasy film so I can go about my day without leaving hand cream traces on everything.
