This last weekend we went inland to the rolling Bunya Mountains for some amazing long hikes and relaxation. We rented the most amazing Airbnb cabin with a roaring fireplace and panoramic views of the mountain and were lucky enough to catch the sunrise and sunset over the silvery gum forests.
I'm over the moon that the weather has finally cooled so we could enjoy big mugs of tea and light the fire every evening. The hikes in Bunya National Park were the best I've done in Queensland with an amazing aesthetic combination of gum trees, lush temperate rainforest and grasslands packed with cacti. It's only 2 hours out of Brisbane and 3 hours from us which makes the mountains an ideal weekend away from South East Queenslanders. I highly recommend it if you like quiet getaways, cozy cabins and long scenic walks.
