To me, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, it fuels your body and mind for the day ahead and influences the steps you will take throughout the day. In my personal experience, it is always important to start the day on a healthy note whenever possible, this helps encourage me to continue to take healthy choices throughout the day. Eating well first thing in the morning can seem tricky if you are always on the go, or have a busy schedule - but here are some of my go to, simple breakfasts for people with busy lives.
I get a nutribullet canister and pop in frozen bananas and berries the night before. I then remove it from the freezer in the morning and add a plant milk and some pea protein and/or supergreens powder and give the mixture a blitz on the bullet. Then I just need a spoon and some optional toppings and breakfast is served.
This is another great night before prep meal, here are two suggested chia bowls you can try for your morning commute. Just pop them in a mason jar the night before and you're ready to go in the morning.
Green Juice and Nuts
Green juices are a delicious alkaline punch to start the day, but I always find I need a bit of solid food to keep me going till lunch. I either have my own cold pressed green juice in a mason jar or buy some from a juice bar and take a small tupperware with trail mix, nuts and or hard boiled eggs and a fresh, zesty breakfast is done.
Healthy Breakfast Sandwich
If you are more of a fan of savoury breakfasts then this is a great option. My favourite breakfast sandwich is paleo bread with avocado, tomato, spinach and smoked salmon (vegan bacon is great if you are on a plant based diet). Its great toasted or fresh and will fill you up if you need a satiating breakfast.
