Where to start! A lot has changed in the last 3 weeks. I got married, moved countries to a city I'd never been to before and started a brand new life. It’s all still a buzz and I am grateful for a few weeks of down time before I start back at work where I can adjust, work out new haunts and routines and (hopefully) make some new friends. Right now everything is a bit of a blur of emotions, it's exciting and refreshing to have a new season in life; Lazier, quieter days, early mornings with singing birds, our garden full of gardenia blooms and a big fun kitchen! But a part of me misses home, being a text away from coffee with a friend, the cooler, quieter atmosphere and the rolling hills of green.
So far we've done a bit of Gold coast exploring and I have found some fun new haunts. On date night we went to Elston, a cute industrial bar on the Surfers Paradise waterfront and then explored the night markets. I loved the surf sunset views and their side dishes could be mains they were so huge.
I also found a cute little quirky cafe in the local shopping centre that makes amazing Acai smoothies and bowls. Tap and Grind has loads of good vibes and comfy chairs, I feel like I'll be visiting a lot, especially once I have some coffee buddies to chill with.
But by far my favourite spot so far is Tamborine Mountain, which is about 45 minutes’ drive away from our house. It’s so peaceful and scenic. There’s bright green trees and jacarandas everywhere and tonnes of quaint old world shops and cafes. Being up there feels like a different world, dreamy, nature filled and scenic. I look forward to many more lazy days wandering the gardens and shops there.
So those are my favourite four haunts so far and I'll have more to share soon. More food and wellness goodies are coming later in the week too! Enjoy!
